FACULTY WEBPAGE POLICY STATEMENT
Faculty web pages represent the individual faculty member in his or her primary role as an Indiana Institute of Technology employee and should comply with the following policy statement:
- Faculty pages will be governed by the Information Technology Policies as stated in Appendix K of the Indiana Institute of Technology, Inc. Policies and Procedures Manual, January 1, 2004 and all other applicable policies of the University. Any web page on the University site that violates applicable policies may be removed from the website immediately by the web administrator in consultation with the Director of Information Technology. Any questions regarding these policies should be directed toward the Director of Information Technology.
- Faculty web pages will carry the following items:
- navigational links to the University’s home page
- name
- title
- biography
- contact information
- office hours
- office address
- phone
- credentials/educational background
- photograph
- page's last modification date
- Other recommended items
- links to papers
- projects
- professional affiliations
- Faculty web pages may not violate copyright, libel, obscenity or other local, state or federal laws.
- Faculty web pages may not be used for commercial uses, sales or money-making ventures except those authorized by the College administration.
- Indiana Institute of Technology accepts no responsibility for external links, and a standard disclaimer statement will be posted indicating that these links do not implicitly or explicitly represent official positions and policies of the University.
- The website will carry a "limitation of liability" page to cover the University from liability for materials carried on web pages.
- Each faculty member will be allocated a set amount of disk space for their web page.
- No sounds may be embedded on official pages.
- Periodic back-up procedures and file retention periods will be followed for all official university web pages.
