WELCOME

Hi,

I serve as the Dean for the College of Engineering and Computer Studies.  This is a new position for me starting in Fall 2005.  I welcome the new challenges of this position.  A brief biography for me appears below.  Please e-mail me if you have any questions.

Dave Aschliman received a BSME and an MSME from Purdue University in 1976 and 1987, respectively.  He started his career at Magnavox as an Environmental Test Engineer and a Mechanical Analyst.  At Magnavox, Hughes Aircraft and Raytheon, he held several key positions of increasing management responsibility.  Dave served as the Manager of Environmental Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Specialty Design & Test and Product Assurance.  He helped develop ISO-9001 work procedures and was instrumental in assuring that Fort Wayne Raytheon achieved certification to the Y2000 version of ISO-9001.  Dave also worked as a part-time professor at Indiana Tech for seven years. In Fall 2002 Dave joined Indiana Tech as the Chair for the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering.  In Fall 2004, with the addition of the Biomedical Engineering program, Dave became the Chair for Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering.  In Fall 2005, with the academic restructuring at Indiana Tech, Dave became the Dean for the College of Engineering and Computer Studies.
