WELCOME
Somewhere along the line, what started as a job has turned into a career. I have taught Physics at Indiana Tech since 1990, which is a frightening number of years.
There is no Physics major at Indiana Tech, and all the Physics courses here are in service to the Engineering and Computer majors. Thus, I end up teaching the same handful of courses many times. Not exceptionally exciting, but I like to think I'm pretty darn good at teaching those courses.
Not married, no known kids. My children are my three adorable ferrets: Dolly, Bandit, and Shadow. They need their daily romp, and for some reason I get funny looks if I'm out with friends and say "I need to get home and let my kids out of their cage."
Outside of work, my main hobby is that I'm a gamer. Not video or computer games, but table-top board games, role-playing games, and other games requiring strategic thinking. I first played Dungeons & Dragons in 1975, a year after it was first released, and I've not yet turned into a Satanist. I am advisor to an Indiana Tech game club called S.T.R.A.N.G.E. (Society Towards Roleplaying, Adventuring, and New Game Exploration), but the club has unfortunately been inactive for a few years. (Anyone wishing to revive it is welcome to contact me.)
I am also chapter advisor to Phi Kappa Theta, one of three social fraternities at Indiana Tech.
I have a black belt in Songahm Tae Kwon Do, but had to quit training due to chronic foot problems.
I own about 5000 comic books. I also am an art collector and have an extensive collection of originals of comic book, science fiction, and fantasy art.
